Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do you say that I am?”

It’s so unfortunate that the term ‘church’ in its current form showed up in our New Testament.

Jesus did not predict a place; He predicted a people, a gathering, a community.

In the first English translation of the Bible, you don’t find “church,” you find “congregation.”

Jesus said “on this rock I am going to build a gathering. Not my death or yours will stop it.”

As leaders, you are people who take charge. And you do stuff.

We need knowledge, but ultimately we need to do the work.

Leaders take what they are supposed to be stewards over and exert their energy.

Leaders don’t blame, they take ownership of what they are called to steward.

The hardest thing that a leader has to be ridiculously in charge of is himself/herself.

I asked the Lord desperately, “Where do I find leaders?”

Five convictions God put on my heart. Been on my heart for the last 20 years.

You need to multiply leaders around you exponentially.

God has called us to go ye therefore to the uttermost parts of the world

The size of your harvest depends on how many leaders you have.

The sign language for vulnerability (weak in the knees or opened up). Every time I open up, I feel a little weak in the knees.

I study vulnerability, worthiness, shame and change.

I study connection, what it means to be human.

The irreducible needs of men, women and children: love and belonging. In the absence of love and belonging there is always suffering.

People need three things: To be seen and loved. To belong. To be brave.

Strategy is not about celebrating the past. It is not about celebrating the present. It is all about the future. If you want to be a leader in the future, you have to adapt to change. Strategy is innovation.

How do you simultaneously doing innovation and efficiency?

Leadership is intentional influence.

Our ability to be effective as leaders is not just motivation, but also about acquiring the skills to do so competently.

Inspiration and vision are essential, but unless that goes into changed behavior, then we fail.

Human beings spend 3 billion hours playing online games every week.

7 million people (1 in 34) in the US are under the supervision of correctional system.

Worldwide obesity has doubled since 1980.

Smoking rates in the US dropped from 44% in the 1950s to 21% by 2008.

In 2007, 61% of Americans said religion was losing influence – Barna Study

In America, no door is closed. Americans will give you a chance.

Got advice from a great business leader: Start a business that is the lowest cost of entry.

NO – Next Opportunity

You are going to get “No”s. You need to keep moving forward.

You can have ideas, but you have to take action.

If we lead strong, we will lead people toward Jesus.

Jesus is saying follow me and I’m waving Hi. Our signals keep getting crossed.

We often end up getting our signals wrong.

I was getting all these facts about Jesus. I was stalking Jesus and was creeping us both out.

Spiritual leadership will always be different than secular leadership.

Who’d think sending a shepherd boy with a sling to take on the heavyweight champion of the world was a good idea?

Is it about building your kingdom or His kingdom?

1 Samuel 18:5-9

What more can he get but the kingdom?

I have the title, but whose kingdom is it?

There is more intelligence in our organizations than we can see with the naked eye. We have latent unused intelligence all around us.

Use your intelligence to amplify, to magnify, to multiply the capability of those around you.

When you lead like a multiplier, people around you literally get smarter.

Multipliers come from all walks of life.

Great leaders use their intelligence to grow the intelligence of others around them.
