Global Leadership Summit 2013: Session 4 – Bob Goff

  • If we lead strong, we will lead people toward Jesus.

  • Jesus is saying follow me and I’m waving Hi. Our signals keep getting crossed.

  • We often end up getting our signals wrong.

  • I was getting all these facts about Jesus. I was stalking Jesus and was creeping us both out.

  • 1 John 3:16ff

  • Two questions that you need to know about Jesus: Who are you? What do you want?

  • I want to move from just agreeing with Jesus to doing stuff.

  • Love God. Love people. Do stuff.

  • I don’t want a son-in-law; I want a friend.

  • The more times I just do stuff, things happen.

  • What were you made to? Do a lot of that.

  • What is it that Jesus made me to do?

  • Ephesians 4

  • Live the life worthy of calling you have received, not the calling someone else received.

  • Leadership is more than just giving people pointers.

  • “Be not afraid”

  • Here’s what I learned about myself: I am poser. And many of you are to.

  • You don’t have to do that anymore.

  • See people for who they are becoming, not who they were.

  • Leading like this is like an interrobang (combination of ? and !)

  • 863 kids this past year in Uganda went missing. There’s always a victim but they were always dead.

  • I don’t know about heavenly garments, but I hope we’re wearing Spiderman outfits.

  • If you want to lead strong in your communities, say YES!

  • Every single Thursday I quit something. Create margin in your life for God to move.

  • If you create some margin, Jesus will shove some terrific things in that space.

  • God wants to blow your minds. He took the foolish things of the world to shame the wise so that no one can boast.

  • Isn’t great that God’s ability to forgive us is not limited to our ability to get it?

  • You want to get stuff right in your leadership? Get the exclamation point after the right stuff.
